American here. I found it peculiar to grieve for someone I never knew, much less, a princess that wasn’t even mine. Then I realized that she had endeared herself to the world. She was the world’s princess. For days afterward, I would say “Did you hear about Diana?” and the response was always a “Yes, isn’t it awful?” and walk away till they composed themselves. I felt so bad for the boys in that big cold castle. All the money in the world can’t replace a mother.
I think part of the reason Princess Diana was so kind and loving toward other people was because she knew how it felt to be unwanted and unloved from her childhood after her mother abandoned her and she didn’t want others to feel that way, especially her children. So sad that she died. She deserved so much better.

He did the right thing in my eyes, not only as a British citizen but as a mother too I am incredibly proud of his choice. The media and his family basically destroyed Diana and I couldn’t imagine what it would be like if the same happened to Megan. So in my eyes he did the best thing he could and I hope in the future more people will understand that and be more supportive.
